It seems that a day doesn’t go by without hearing or reading about “cyber security”. From governments and large tech companies to airports – everyone is vulnerable and fighting back the cyber-attacks.

In view of this, here at Campaignmaster, we do everything to have the most secure platform, implementing further security functionality such as IP restrictions and advanced user privileges for an additional layer of security.

This blog post elaborates on this and outlines the benefits of our many security features.

Secure HTTPS application along with all forms and landing pages

User authentication or data entry and the HTTPS protocol have become a universal pairing. Most websites and platforms that require users to log in or enter data will incorporate a secure connection, and the ones that don’t are certainly more likely to be exploited.

HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure) is a protocol which acts as the bridge between your web browser and the website that you are accessing and through which the data is transmitted. The ‘S’ in the acronym stands for ‘Secure’ indicating that HTTPS is the secure version of the HTTP protocol.

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a cryptographic protocol that enables secure communications within a computer network. TLS is used for making the bridge between websites and web browsers secure which, in turn, incorporates the HTTPS protocol.

The Campaignmaster platform runs on the HTTPS protocol and is equipped with a secure TLS certificate ensuring that users have nothing to worry about regarding security when authenticating into and using the application.

Furthermore, what if you want all your forms and landing pages to use the HTTPS protocol? No problem, we’ve got that sorted. Simply provide us with your SSL certificate and we’ll enable this feature in your account.

The power of account administrators

Certain software applications require specialist help if you want to add a new user, reset your or another user’s password, or gain more privileges. This is not the case with CMAdvantage as a client administrator is assigned to each account, giving them a wide array of tools to control access through IP restrictions and manage their users’ details and privileges.

Control what your users can and can’t do with user privileges

Having a structured privilege system is crucial, especially within a large company, and this is why we have designed a flexible and reliable user privileges functionality; the client administrator is able to create user groups, assign members and specify the level of access to platform features.

The user groups control what the user can do and access within the application, users can be granted full ability to send campaigns or limited to just managing lists.

Enhanced security with two-factor authentication

The Technical Team at Campaignmaster continually keeps up-to-date with the latest advances in cyber-security and implements additional security layers to protect the platform and its users.

One such implementation is the two-factor authentication which requests additional information from users before allowing them to log into the platform. We believe flexibility is one of our strengths, so two-factor authentication isn’t the default, clients are able to request for it to be enabled on their accounts.

If enabled, users will be requested to enter three random characters from a memorable word they have initially set, in addition to entering their password. We also give users the opportunity to set a hint for the memorable word, just to help them refresh their memory.

Further control with our latest IP restriction function

Have you ever wanted to only allow a certain individual or company to access one of your applications? Well, we have thought about it too and have come up with an IP restriction function which allows the client administrator to control who can access the Campaignmaster platform and from where. Simply enter which IP address(es) you want to allow access to, and the system will take care of the rest.
